Environmental Risks NR-09
No Brasil Labour legislation obliges all public and private companies to prepare and implement the PPRA, in addition to maintaining a base document for recording these actions, which include :
risk assessment;
annual planning with establishment of goals and priorities;
schedule;
action strategy and methodology;
form of registration, maintenance and dissemination of data;
periodicity and form of evaluation of the development of the PPRA.
The PPRA - Environmental Risk Prevention Program was established by the Occupational Health and Safety Department, of the Ministry of Labor, through the Regulatory Norm NR 9, Ordinance 3214/78, with the objective of defining an action methodology to guarantee the preservation of the health and integrity of workers in the face of the risks existing in the work environments.
Physical, chemical and biological agents are considered environmental risks. The presence of these agents in certain concentrations or intensity are considered environmental risk factors. The maximum time of worker exposure to these agents is determined by pre-established limits.
